Do you charge for the first meeting?

No. Your first consultation runs for 30 minutes at no charge, so you can talk through your situation and understand your options before deciding how to proceed.

Is Hale & Partners accredited in family law?

Yes. Catherine Hale, our principal, is an accredited family law specialist, recognised for advanced knowledge and experience in this area.

Do we have to go to court?

Not always. Many separation and parenting matters are resolved through mediation or negotiation. Court proceedings are a last resort when agreement isn't possible.

What does mediation involve?

Mediation brings both parties together with a mediator to work towards agreement on parenting or property matters, without the cost and delay of court.

Can you help with parenting arrangements only?

Yes. We advise on parenting plans and consent orders, whether or not property or finances are also part of your matter.

How are your fees structured?

We set fixed fees where we can, and explain the basis of costs clearly before any work begins.
